GUYS.

It’s almost March … which means there’ll only be 1 season standing between me & my bae, summer.

Buh-byeeee, winter – you won’t be missed too much. ( or at all? )

But, March 1 also means …. Lent!

As in, what luxury are you giving up this year?

As you guys probably know, I started working out at the gym last year & 100% avoided the Freshman 15 – I even lost some weight!

But, I actually didn’t crack down the whip & make it into a routine until Lent. It was my 1st time ever participating & I gave up 2 hours every night to go to the gym & work on myself.

& it was a hell of a success – it really stuck. Really, just the best decision ever.

Even now, a year later, I definitely look forward to my gym sesh every night. Maybe not for 2 hours EVERY night ( life happens ), but def for an hour on most nights.

SO this year for 40 days I want to give up another luxury.

I’ll be eating a vegan diet for at least 1 meal / day. a.k.a. steering clear from animal products as much as I possibly can. I chose this to challenge myself, spare the environment some pain, & encourage myself to find creative, healthy ways to eat.

I decided not to fully commit to veganism since I don’t make my own meals at the mo’ & have very limited options at the caf ( is school food ever good??? ) … but also because I’d still like to be able to go out for food w/ some friends without being an inconvenience.

On top of that, it’s definitely hard to go from a regular diet to straight vegan right away … ( I learned that the hard way last summer ). So who knows – if this sticks after 40 days, I may have myself a keeper. πŸ˜‰

40 days, a minimum of 40 meals without meat & dairy products.

This will def be a bit of a challenge & will very much be about doing whatever I can, whenever I can … wish me luck!

Is it weird that I’m actually excited? HA!

More to follow – I’ll keep you guys updated!

If you’re giving up something for Lent this year, I want to know! Leave me a lil’ note in the comments & let’s chat.
